In our diet, there are various types of foods such as vegetables, fruits, nuts, legumes, meat and dairy products which consist of many essential nutrients required by our body. However, all the foods that belong to each of these categories have some amount of calories in them, either high or low. Depending on the amounts of the calories in these foods and on the amounts in which they are consumed, our body metabolizes it accordingly. Some part of the calories are used to produce energy, some are converted into fat and some are released out of the body as waste. Now, the term “negative calorie” is usually misunderstood in many cases, where people think that there are foods which contain no calories at all and are safe to be eaten.
On the contrary, there are some foods which need more amount of calories for digestion than the calories which these foods actually contain. Since, the calories from these foods are harder to be used by the body, a small part of the calorie content is used and the rest is burnt. Therefore, they are known as negative calorie foods and the effect on the body is weight loss (negative calorie effect). In the coming up paragraphs, you will find the recipe of the negative calorie soup, which is one of the foods used effectively in the negative calorie diet for weight loss. So, take a look and use it by consulting a dietitian for safer results.
Extra calories are always a problem to our body weight and we take all the measure to avoid them. There are many foods which we include and exclude from our diet so that we can prevent the intake of calories in our body. For this purpose, there are fad diets or crash diets which include diet plans and foods that claim to help you lose weight in minimum time. But how effective are they from personal experiences? This is where you can think of adopting the concept of negative calorie diet foods which have calories in them, but the body is unable to digest them completely.
In the attempt of doing this, the body not only burns extra calories, but also uses the calories from these foods (the small amount that can be digested by the body), for nutrition. There are various fruits and vegetables that are fibrous and contain negative calories, such as asparagus, cauliflower, broccoli, lettuce, carrots, green cabbage, apples, cantaloupes, blueberries, cranberries, etc. These can be consumed in the simplest dishes such as low calorie soup recipes.
